Welcome to Our Lady’s Assumption School

As the principal of Our Lady’s Assumption School (OLA), I warmly welcome you to our wonderful school. I have been at OLA since 2018 and witnessed a change in culture, teaching pedagogy as well as an increase in student achievements, ensuring we’re catering for the needs of all students, to the best of our ability. ‘It takes a village to raise a child’ and this is the approach we have taken at OLA, a whole school approach to the way we learn, communicate and educate our students.

Sydney / Canberra Tour - Day 2 📸

The group were up bright and early on the first morning of their trip, which started off with a beautiful brisk walk across the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

They were lucky enough to watch the sunrise from the bridge, as they looked out to see the Opera House and the Carnival Splendour Cruise Ship that was docked in the harbour 🚢🌊

They then made their way via coach to the Australian Capital Territory (ACT). When they arrived in Canberra, they spent some time shopping at Westfield Belconnen, before heading to the National Education Electoral Centre. Here the students participated in the House of Representatives program and learnt all about voting in Australia 🗳🏛️

It was a great start to their time in Canberra 🤩

Summer is still talking about her fantastic time away 🥰 For anyone thinking about it for their child in 2026, we highly recommend this amazing experience 😍

Beautiful Photos of an Amazing Day 🥰xx

Thank you to our Year 3 students who led the school in today’s NAIDOC Mass 🖤💛❤️

As part of our NAIDOC Week celebrations, the students have been creating artwork that reflects this year’s theme ‘Keep the fire burning! Blak, loud and proud’. They are currently displayed in the Sr. Goretti Hall and will remain there for next week’s assembly - come by and take a look 😀

NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for learning, connection and community. It gives First Nations people and non-Indigenous people the opportunity to celebrate and connect with community and Country. And it’s a chance for everyone, not just First Nations people, to celebrate all aspects of First Nations histories and cultures. It’s also an important time to reflect on the challenges faced by First Nations people — to look at how far we’ve come and how far we still have to go 🫶🏽
