Welcome to Our Lady’s Assumption School

As the principal of Our Lady’s Assumption School (OLA), I warmly welcome you to our wonderful school. I have been at OLA since 2018 and witnessed a change in culture, teaching pedagogy as well as an increase in student achievements, ensuring we’re catering for the needs of all students, to the best of our ability. ‘It takes a village to raise a child’ and this is the approach we have taken at OLA, a whole school approach to the way we learn, communicate and educate our students.

Yesterday, our PP and Year 1-2 students were treated to a special Christmas themed visit from the Nature Pixie and Becky Buckaroo aka Rebecca Jane Flanagan, Storyteller - Musical Experiences For Children 🧚‍♀️🍄✨🤠👢

The performances incorporated interactive storytelling full of singing and dancing to nurture the children’s imaginations. Our PPs even got to make reindeer food 🦌🥣 😋

So much fun!!

The past few weeks in Year 3 have been full of creativity, leadership and giving back 💖

They explored the fascinating world of Andy Warhol and created stunning digital artworks inspired by his pop art style 🖼️👨‍🎨

Students took the lead in promoting the collection of ring pulls for Wheelchairs for Kids. They spoke at assembly to support the St Vinnies Christmas Appeal and delivered baskets to classes for donations.

In the classroom, they also kicked off "Teacher for a Day”. Students have been taking turns with leading roles for PLD work, times tables challenges and refereeing silent ball 🏐🤚🏻

Great fun and amazing efforts Year 3 🤩💪
