Welcome to Our Lady’s Assumption School

As the principal of Our Lady’s Assumption School (OLA), I warmly welcome you to our wonderful school. I have been at OLA since 2018 and witnessed a change in culture, teaching pedagogy as well as an increase in student achievements, ensuring we’re catering for the needs of all students, to the best of our ability. ‘It takes a village to raise a child’ and this is the approach we have taken at OLA, a whole school approach to the way we learn, communicate and educate our students.

There’s still time to RSVP to the Mother’s Day morning this Wednesday 7 May. Please make sure you do so via School Stream by tomorrow for catering purposes.

Dads - it’s your turn to get the aprons on and help out. We would love any Dads who can spare a bit of time to assist in serving or cleaning up. Head to School Stream to volunteer (Mums… for those Dads not on School Stream… it’s the perfect opportunity to rope him in to help 😜)

💐MOTHER’S DAY GIFT STALL💐
We’re giving students the chance to pamper their Mum, Grandmother or special Mother Figure in their lives ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

On Wednesday 7 May, the OLA Gift Stall will be open for students to choose a gift for their loved ones. Gifts are $10 each but you will need to pre-pay the number of gifts you would like to purchase via QuickCliq. Visit School Stream for more info.

Yesterday, we paused to remember and honour the courage, sacrifice and resilience of the men and women who have served — and continue to serve — our country 🇦🇺🇳🇿

Thank you to the Year 6 teachers and students for leading the beautiful ANZAC Day Liturgy🎖️🌺

Lest We Forget.

While the kids were enjoying some extra days off this week, our staff were putting these days to good use👌

👉On Monday, they took a deep dive into the English and Maths curriculum as clusters, looking at ways they can build on the current work they do.

👉On Tuesday, staff visited the Catholic Education WA Newman Siena Centre and spent the day deepening their faith and getting to know more about the Dominican order with Dr John Topliss, who shared some great insights. They also reflected on their own faith and what it means to them.

It was such a nice way for OLA staff to come together as a staff community to explore and reflect ahead of Term 2 🫶🏽
