Welcome to Our Lady’s Assumption School

As the principal of Our Lady’s Assumption School (OLA), I warmly welcome you to our wonderful school. I have been at OLA since 2018 and witnessed a change in culture, teaching pedagogy as well as an increase in student achievements, ensuring we’re catering for the needs of all students, to the best of our ability. ‘It takes a village to raise a child’ and this is the approach we have taken at OLA, a whole school approach to the way we learn, communicate and educate our students.

Today our Year 6s’ took to the sporting fields for the annual Winter Carnival. Students participated in either Netball, Soccer or Football and represented OLA fantastically, showing excellent sportsmanship to teammates and other schools 🤝

Each team played 6-7 rounds, showing off their awesome new jerseys! A massive thank you 🙏🏻 to all of the parents who wholeheartedly volunteered their time to coach and support our OLA teams.

In Year 5, the students have been practising mindfulness after lunch, trying different activities to give their brains a break.

Their fav activity has been ‘Anything but a wave’. Students start with a wave shape, and tap into their creativity to create a drawing incorporating the shape.

As you can see, they have big imaginations 🧠💡🤓🤔💪🏻

Today our Yr 2-6 students enjoyed a visit from Water Corporation.

Students carried out interesting experiments to learn all about WA’s water supply and water conservation💦

The interactive incursion delved into the foundations of our natural and integrated water cycle, including the demand for our growing population and the issues it has on our current systems.

Students also talked about how they can be waterwise at home and in their everyday lives 💙💙💙
