Welcome to Our Lady’s Assumption School
As the principal of Our Lady’s Assumption School (OLA), I warmly welcome you to our wonderful school. I have been at OLA since 2018 and witnessed a change in culture, teaching pedagogy as well as an increase in student achievements, ensuring we’re catering for the needs of all students, to the best of our ability. ‘It takes a village to raise a child’ and this is the approach we have taken at OLA, a whole school approach to the way we learn, communicate and educate our students.

Yesterday, 10 students from Years 5 and 6 collaborated and flexed their creativity to plan, write, illustrate and publish a book in ONE day ✍🏻🧑🎨📕
Their book was titled 'Opposites in the Bush' and had to include a cow, jockey, songwriter, a boat, while being lost in the bush 🐄🏇🎤🚤🌲🤔💭
It was a fun filled, long day with the team working tirelessly, starting at 8am and working through to 8pm.
Every year, OLA takes part in the Write a Book in a Day competition, which challenges teams across Australia to write and illustrate a novel in just 12 hours to raise vital funds for kids' cancer research for The Kids' Cancer Project.
The best bit? The books are added to an online library, which is made available in hospitals all over Australia for children to read while they are being cared for ❤️🩹
Huge thanks to Mrs Tollis for mentoring these young authors and illustrators and keeping them focused for 12 hours straight 🤪
