Leadership Message – Issue Eighteen

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for Your Word of truth and the lessons that it teaches all Your children.

Help me to walk by faith in Christ and not to depend on my own human merit.

Keep me from pride. Give me a heart that is humble in spirit – and lead me in the path of godly righteousness and truth,

in Jesus’ name I pray,

Amen

Leadership Message – Issue Eighteen

Principal’s Message

Welcome Back!

It was so great to see how enthusiastically the children walked through the gates on Monday morning, it was awesome to catch up with so many parents and kids, hearing about the things that you did over the break. I hope you have all had some quality time together as families over the holidays, we have a busy term ahead with a calendar full of activities and opportunities for our students.

Over the weekend we had a loss in our family, in helping my cousins make preparations, one of my cousins who is in his mid-thirties stated that although he knew his parents worked tirelessly to provide for him, what he remembers the most is that his father always made time to attend his cricket and football commitments. I asked him if he thought time could be the best gift that he was given, he said that when he was younger, no, but now, most definitely. Again, this brings me back to that no matter what we have, there will always be more, but time is the one thing that once it is gone, it is lost. As difficult as it is, as parents we need to make sure that we aren’t missing too many moments with our children.

Speaking of moments, the OLA Fete is fast approaching! Please support the school fete by giving some time to assist on a stall, we still have spots available. Without volunteers so much of what we do could not happen in our school, so we appreciate every moment that every volunteer gives us.
