Welcome to Our Lady’s Assumption School

As the principal of Our Ladyโ€™s Assumption School (OLA), I warmly welcome you to our wonderful school. I have been at OLA since 2018 and witnessed a change in culture, teaching pedagogy as well as an increase in student achievements, ensuring weโ€™re catering for the needs of all students, to the best of our ability. โ€˜It takes a village to raise a childโ€™ and this is the approach we have taken at OLA, a whole school approach to the way we learn, communicate and educate our students.

While the rest of the world is keeping an eye on the Trump vs Harris presidential race, closer to home our Year 5s are eagerly anticipating the outcome of their own election ๐Ÿ˜œ

Over the past couple of weeks, every Year 5 student bravely presented a speech on why they would make a great leader to their peers, teachers and the Year 4 and 6 cohort ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ๐Ÿ“ฃ

Weโ€™re so proud of all their efforts as they spoke with confidence and enthusiasm about their prospective roles.

This week the Year 4-6 students and teachers are casting their votes ๐Ÿ“ฅ to decide who will be our Year 6 leaders for 2025. They will be announced at the end of Week 6.

Good luck to all students๐Ÿคž๐Ÿป

Good luck to all๐Ÿ˜Š

Last Friday, Chloe (5G) and Anvitha (3G) spent the day working alongside Mrs Dale as Librarians for a Day ๐Ÿ“–๐Ÿ“š

They received this reward for each reading over 200 books during the Premier's Reading Challenge - WOW!!

Anvitha most enjoyed reading stories to the Pre-Primary classes and Chloe did a fantastic job getting our Christmas books ready for borrowing.

They both helped choose books to order and kept the library running smoothly during library sessions. The girls were surprised to see how busy a day in the library can be ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ’ญ

Thank you for all your help Miss Anvitha and Miss Chloe ๐Ÿค—
